Here you can take a look around Crosslands Nursery to get a feel of what your child will experience here with us

Each child learns to recognise their name through their own water bottles, pegs and basket and posting good morning and afternoon activities.

Our 2–3 year area boasts two rooms in a home from home environment.

One room offers a variety of stimulating activities for children to explore, create and learn. There is a cosy quiet area for calm times and listening to stories.

The other is a space for mealtimes with friends and creative play area in our messy room

Upstairs is our 3-5 years old group. We have two rooms; the first room offers a range of interactive areas like our home corner where children can act out and share experiences relating to their own backgrounds. Also, we have a book/quiet corner with an alphabet display, a games and puzzle table, along with a construction building area

The second room is our upstairs messy area which offers creative play and learning through a range of media materials, inculding Paint, playdough, model building, chalk creations to name but just a few. This is also a space used to enjoy meals times together.

Our outside area is a secure walled and fenced garden that provides security and privacy. We like to look at this as an extension of our learning and development tools. We offer a great number of outside physical activities for example, a good-sized climbing frame and outside toys in a range of sizes to suit every child.

The garden boasts a role play area including a mud kitchen, small playhouse, sand/water play and an under-cover area so the outdoors can be enjoyed all year round.

If this becomes a little much and your child wishes for some quiet time, we have an outside home/reading corner for them to relax and take some well earned rest

Within our small setting we have a cosy 3 months – 1 years room. Our soft cushions and mats allow the children to enjoy tummy time, pull themselves up and learn to walk. Our sensory corner and mirrors allow our children to explore using their senses, create noises, feel different textures and learn new words.

Activities are planned using the early years foundation stage (EYFS) inside and outdoors in our large outdoor area. Our daily schedule is packed with music, songs and rhymes, stories and messy activity times.

At the end of the day feedback is given verbally and written via a home communication book about your child’s well-being and activities throughout the day.
